It is nestled in the Andes mountains and surrounded by vineyards.
I discovered Cafayate through the power of Social Media.
A friend on Facebook has posted many photos over the years of her Happy Place in Cafayate. At Christmas she was back and her beautiful FB photos intrigued me. So I contacted her for more information.
Digging around I also found stunning Tilcara and the surrounding area 6 hours further north.
Loving the mountains I was hooked, or should I say, I was “booked”.
Cafayate is a quiet little mountain village town.
It looks like it is hoping to become much bigger. There is new house and subdivision construction in a beautiful setting. (This photo is for the engineer in the family.)
Building a new community combining "manpower", “horsepower” and “modern” equipment.
It is a beautiful setting for new homes and it is easy to see why people would want to live and vacation in Cafayate.
There are many vineyards in the area.
We had to have a tour and wine tasting, because, you know, when in Rome….
CHEERS to Social Media, Facebook, being influenced by friends, and thanks to Kayleen for opening our eyes to Cafayate.
(NOTE TO SELF: We really must learn to master the art of taking Selfies!)
