FRANCE: The Countryside in Provence During Harvest Season

September in the Northern Hemisphere marks the beginning of the harvest season.

The fields have vines with plump juicy grapes ready to be picked.

Well, that can be variable because of temperamental weather.

It had been beautiful sunny weather for weeks, and, the day our friend's vineyard had scheduled grape picking, it rained in the morning and threatened to do so for the rest of the day.

Harvest can be made or broken depending on the weather.

But having said that, I have yet to taste a bad bottle of wine from her vineyard, Chene Bleu.

First things first, we checked out the vineyard and fruit.

After we sampled the fruit on the vineyard we had a tour of the winery.

Everything seemed perfect to us!

Many thanks to our friend Nicole Rolet for graciously sharing this slice of her world with us.

The vineyard is nestled in a gorgeous part of Provence with rolling hills as a backdrop.

Quaint little villages welcome tourists and we stopped to explore several.

John, the Francophile, has been googling: "Visas required for Canadian gypsies that are thinking about living in France".

I think he might be "SOLD!"

Living on a vineyard in Provence - not a bad life.
Probably cost a fortune, but life is meant to be lived.
