Riding camels in the Sahara's Erg Chebbi dunes to watch the sun set was by far one of the most memorable things we did in Morocco.
The Erg Chebbi dunes are giant hills of smooth wind-blown sand that line the border between Morocco and Algeria.
They are famous for their great height and size.
They can rise up to one hundred fifty meters high (500 ft) in some places, are twenty-two kilometers long (14 miles), and five kilometers wide (3 miles).
Cocktail Party Trivia: Moroccan legend says that the Erg Chebbi sand dunes were sent by God as a punishment to teach them a lesson to never turn away a weary traveller from Morocco's Sahara desert again.

Just before sunset we waited on one of the dunes.
I believe the modern terminology for it would be "Glamping" in the Sahara.

No John, we can not foster a camel!

Thank you Gordon. I don't recall seeing an oasis here, but I do recall it when we were in the desert in Tunisia. I love your motorcycle fridge magnet! We love what we are doing, and yes, I do wonder if at some point it will be difficult for us to settle down and become responsible adults again. YIKES! I love that you are reading the blog and commenting. Thanks, Linda
Linda, you post some very interesting and educational information and have a good eye for photos.
I also have another motorcycle pic that I like. An old dude with grey hair blowing in the wind:
"That's what I do. I ride my motorcycle and I forget things" Part of that is because you have to be focused on the moment to not get hurt so all the crap and noise disappears. Ha Ha
Keep on blogging.
Your photography is fabulous!
Thank you Apple, I’m just using an iPhone. Linda
