LONDON: A magnet that brings us back "home" again.

We lived in London from 2014 to 2016.

There is always something that brings us back.

Some say its the sunny and balmy weather.

But anyone that has spent much time in London will know that it is definitely not the reason!

I had to head back to the old 'hood for a walk down Memory Lane.

As always, it makes me smile reminding me of the great times we had living in London.

Humour me as I walk you around my old stomping grounds.

The gym was a 5 minute run from home, (that could include stopping for a chocolate chip cookie, but never did!) I could easily say "I ran to the gym today" and sound very impressive.

We had our own small movie theatre near us.

Our local tube station, Calpham Common on the Northern Line, was about a 5 minute walk (which never included a stop for a chocolate chip cookie!)

The old tube station's WC (washroom) has been converted to a local watering hole with a different definition than its original function as a "watering hole".

Down the escalator, which as a Tube Warrior I always walk, both up and down.

Deeper into the bowels of the station.

And down even deeper.

Where to today? Which line will I connect to in order to open up the many wonders that London has to offer?

"Mind the Gap".
Its so good to be "back home!"

Some of the escalators are incredibly steep. I don't know the Clapham area but as a kid I remember my auntie who lived on North circular Road taking me to Clapham Junction to go train spotting. Happy days. When I got into my teens a couple of mates and me would stay with her for weekends and she always warned us to stay away from the Picadilly fairies, so we went to Soho instead.

Gordon, it sounds like some great memories. Clapham used to be a bit "seedier", but now it is really popular with the young "kids". Linda
