THAILAND: Island Living - Phuket Sunsets & Koh Samui Night Market

Phuket is Thailand's largest island and is on the western coast of the country.

Historically, the island Phuket was situated on a major trading route between India and China.

It is considered among the world's best beach destinations with fine white sand and inviting clear warm waters.

We created a nightly routine and took the shuttle bus to the beach in town, grabbed a chair on the beach and sipped fancy Mango Mojitos as the sun set.

It was a pretty sweet routine.

Another popular island with fantastic beaches is Koh Samui, an island off the east coast of Thailand.

Samui is the
third-largest island in Thailand and the largest in an archipelago of more than 80 islands.

We took a bus to Fisherman's Village for their night market.

I don't usually take food pictures, but, I couldn't resist taking these photos.

We rented a car for a couple of days and explored the island.

For some reason, this rock is listed as a tourist attraction.

I am not really sure what to say about that, other than it is a pretty island with endless options for fun in the sun, on the beach and in the water.

What great sunset memories. I see a horse rider on the beach. We have done trail rides at dude ranches and when we were at Rocky Point paid for a horse ride in the beach and the water, but the guy was a no show picking us up at the hotel. Still on the bucket list.
Nothing in the food pics that I could eat although I did try alligator in Baton Rouge. The rock looks interesting but really not big enough to be a tourist attraction.

Gordon, that's too bad your horse guy was a no-show, but, gives you a reason to go back and try again. Ummmm..... eating the bugs holds no interest for me, but, apparently "they taste like chicken." LOL.
