SRI LANKA: People Watching

For me, people make the difference.

One day we were sitting down getting ready to have lunch and there were a group of beautifully dressed teenage girls outside.

I went over and asked them if I could take their pictures.

"YES!!!"

They were so excited, asking me questions and curious about where I was from. But most importantly, ready to pose for photos.

Teenagers.....

They were very eager that I do selfies with them and post them on my Instagram. My selfie skills still need some work.

Then their mom's came out to see what they were up to and they had to get into the photos too.

I took these were while I was waiting at the train station.

People I met on our walk to the waterfalls. This little guy was so proud to be helping his mom carry the firewood.

Plantation workers walking to work.

A peaceful moment enjoying some ice cream.

Popcorn vendors by the river.

This man fascinated me. He was sitting on the sidewalk repairing shoes. I asked him if I could take his picture.

When I showed him his picture and asked if I could take more, he rewarded me with some great smiles.

This one made me laugh.... I was trying to get a photo of the little boy outside a pharmacy, and the man was nudging the little guy to look at me. And then, much to my surprise, the man leaves! Turns out it wasn't his son, the little boy was there with his mom!

 Shoppers and vendors.

Walking in the park.

Our guide with a lotus flower offering at the temple.

Buddhist monks - but actually - I think they were actors for a movie they were filming at a temple.

A fabric vendor (I think?)

School pickup?

Some groups at a tourist site.

Repairing a dock.

Making shade in a park on a hot sunny day.

Waiting for a train.

Parking lot attendant at a tourist stop.

Our tea plantation guide, who handled an obnoxious guest with grace. (And no, the obnoxious guest was not from Canada.)

A swimmer taking a break from his life saving class.

Walking home from work.

Waiting for a bus.

Beachcomber.

Canadians.....

 that definitely look like tourists.

Anonymous, the people were very friendly. The young ladies that were all dressed up were so much fun and certainly loved posing. Thanks for reading and commenting, it keeps me motivated to keep posting. Linda
