CYPRUS: Coastline

The coastline of Cyprus stretches for over 640 kilometers (400 miles.)

It has crystal-clear waters with a mix of golden sandy beaches and rugged cliffs.

The coastline of Cyprus has played a crucial role in the island’s history and culture.

Since ancient times, ports and harbors along the coast facilitated trade and cultural exchanges between Europe, Asia, and Africa.

On the SE point, Cape Cavo has a little church with a great view.

We hiked the Baths of Aphrodite Trail in the NW corner of the island where we got awesome coastal views.

There are coastal walks along cliffs.

Aphrodite’s Rock near Paphos on the SW coast is a legendary coastal landmark. According to Greek mythology, this is the birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. It is said she emerged from the sea foam here.

Local legend says that swimming around the rock three times brings good luck and eternal beauty. I am not much of a swimmer, so, I guess I am stuck with what I have.

There is a shipwreck for the adventurous to explore.

The water is so clear.

There are sandy beaches.

There are boardwalks and hotels.

Big luxury homes overlook the water.

No, we will not be buying a luxury home on the water!

But it is always a treat to enjoy a beverage or meal by the sea.
