MEXICO: Wandering Around Guadalajara

I like to get out and explore the cities we visit.

I always try to get walking tours booked when we first arrive to get the lay of the land.

I have become a bit of a History Geek, so, I like to learn about the history of places we visit.

And I like to get a bit of an understanding of what makes the city tick now.

Unfortunately, I am linguistically challenged and only learn a few rudimentary words.

Which embarrassingly, I generally quickly forget.

This post will be a nice simple one of some street scenes from the city.

Street art/murals pop up everywhere.

It seems like there is a strong pride in their history and revolutions.

On one of my wandering quests I stumbled across a street full of leather shoe makers.

These were some taxi drivers playing cards while waiting for new fares.

People must take a lot of pride in their shoes, as there were a lot of shoe shine stands in all the plazas.

On a Sunday morning walk we found these people doing mental gymnastics and hula-hoop exercises in the plaza square.

Outdoor market stands.

Night lights.

John found a cute little craft brewery not too far from our place.

A good place to end a day of wandering.

And indulge in a local craft beer - for educational purposes.
