Kuang Si Waterfall is about 29 km south of Luang Prabang.
It is a popular retreat for locals and tourists.
The Kuang Si Falls has 3 tiers leading to a 50-meter drop into shallow pools, before flowing downstream.
It is a quiet oasis (although, it would be quieter if there weren't so many tourists.)
Surrounded by lush tropical jungle, the pools have cascades of up to 5 meters high.
We took the trails and walked from the village up to the top of Kuang Si Falls.
Enroute we passed through the bear sanctuary.
They currently have 21 bears in the sanctuary.
These two look like they are having fun.
But I'm not sure I'd want to get involved in their play date.
The trail then took us through several levels of falls.
TBH - it was very nice to have a break from temples and be in nature.

A great example of the research and the planning you must do before you travel to a particular country. You are a logistics wiz.
Thanks Gordon. We joined a tour in Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. We didn’t want to tackle the language barrier, needed a break from planning logistics and needed to refresh our social skills with other people. It was a good decision. 😂. Linda
