MEXICO: Parks, Food Stands and Faces in Mexico City

Outdoor parks in Mexico City seem to be full of people enjoying the sunshine and great weather.

Food stands also seem to be a great place to find people.

Both places work well for people watching and taking photos.

In no particular order, random photos of people in Mexico City.

Line ups for food trucks.

 Fast food vendors.

Lots of corn snack stands throughout the parks.

This little cutie sitting in a suitcase is with her mother, a park vendor.

A park vendor dressed appropriately to increase sales.

Someone doing his laundry in the city fountain.

Another corn snack vendor.

The international obsession with cell phones.

Enjoying the sunshine.

There was always a huge police presence in the Alemeda Central park and around the tourist areas.

This lady had the prettiest smile and teeth. When I asked her for a picture she obliged, but didn't show her pretty teeth. I was too shy to ask her to smile showing her teeth. (Not to mention I don't know how to say that in Spanish.)

Marinating the meat.

Another fountain and another person keeping clean.

We found people throughout the city playing these instruments. The players all wear beige pants, tops and caps. Apparently the instruments are from the early 1900's and there are no parts available for repairs. They sound a little tuneless but I think add to the character of the city streets.

In a city of over 20 million I found the people very friendly and never felt frightened or threatened.
