The walk follows an
elevated wooden boardwalk that winds through the narrow gorge above the Zarı
Stream.
With the suspended wooden platforms it reminded me a little bit of the Caminito del Rey that we did in Spain
at the end of last year.
It is well manicured and we followed a sturdy wooden boardwalk.
The canyon has dramatic limestone cliffs and the boardwalk is attached directly to the canyon walls.
In places, the boardwalk is suspended up to 60 metres (200 feet) above the canyon floor.
The smooth limestone walls were carved by thousands of years of erosion.
There are some impressive views into the gorge below.
It also winds through lush forests filled with beech, fir, and
pine trees.
This made me laugh....
The hike ends at the scenic Ilıca Waterfall, where water
drops about 10 metres (33 feet) into a turquoise pool surrounded by
dense forest.
If it looks scary, don’t worry.
It isn’t.
