Victoria is considered Canada's garden city.
The mild weather is conducive for blooms and beautiful landscaping all year.
Butchart Gardens, just outside Victoria, is a gardeners dream year round.
At Christmas the Gardens take on a whole different atmosphere lit up with lights and the festive Christmas spirit.
One of the themes they embraced was the 12 Days of Christmas.
It was fun looking around for their displays following the song.
They are cute and whimsical.
On closer inspection you would find more details.
The snow covers up some of the details on this, so take a closer look.
We missed finding a few, and some were harder to take pictures of.
It was fun trying to remember the words to the song, the different days and gifts and then looking for them.
There were some very creative and talented people working on this.
The Sunken Gardens is one of the highlights of Butchart Gardens.
It used to be a quarry full of rocks and rubble.
Then, Jennie Butchart, the quarry owner's wife, had the vision and passion to transform the quarry into a sunken garden.
It was the worlds first land reclamation project.
Any time of the year its a beautiful oasis.
With the Christmas lights it takes on a whole different character.
With the unexpected snow it gave it another charm.
And they gave us the perfect photo op.
Merry Christmas from the Homeless Grey Nomads.
